The TUMA school of mau rkau / mau taiaha has been developed and taught in the Wellington region based on both ancient practice and contemporary, locality-based knowledge. This reference guidebook has been developed to assist students of mau taiaha and mau rkau at all levels in their journey in learning the art, culture, history and language of this Mori martial art. It allows students who are only beginning to access essential knowledge and those who have some experience to refer back to. Actions are described within this book in some detail to allow students to understand both the nuances of each and the meaning behind them.
