When a 31-year old man comes face-to-face with the prospect of an early death, at first he sees nothing but confirmation of his oldest and deepest fears. But chance encounters with a couple of strangers give him new passion and perspective. Finally, he begins to recognize the childhood trauma and tragic coping mechanisms that have kept him from leading a normal life.
