"Concern for the protection and management of the whenua/land was the inspiration for this publication. Global and local impacts such as climate change and water pollution, and structural issues such as government policy and neoliberal economics have long affected global and local habitats as well as how people perceive, relate to and care for them ... The project is Mori-led, recognising that Mori identity recounted through pepeha or proverbs related to land associations, and Mori understanding of the integration of whenua, tinana and wairua, can teach non-Mori other ways of responding to land and water management issues, to the mauri of the environment ...
